Peter Myers Digest: Former Israeli PM Olmert says Khan Yunis (not Al-Shifa Hospital) is the real HQ of Hamas

This would mean that Israel’s attacks on schools & hospitals were War Crimes, and contravened the Genocide Convention. But those laws, crafted to punish Nazis, don’t seem to apply when the crimes are committed by Jews – Peter M.

AOC Slams AIPAC Over Plan to Spend $100M to Unseat The Only Critics of Israel in Congress
Chris Menahan

Nov. 16, 2023

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) called out the pro-Israel lobbying group AIPAC over their reported plan to spend $100 million “to unseat the few [members of Congress] who believe in Palestinian human rights and a ceasefire that most Americans already support.”

“Criticism of the Israeli gov is virtually nonexistent in US politics, but apparently that’s not enough,” Ocasio-Cortez said Wednesday on X. “Gotta spend *$100 million* to unseat the few who believe in Palestinian human rights & a ceasefire that most Americans already support. The acceptable level of dissent is 0.”

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) started dumping money into ads attacking Congressman Thomas Massie (R-KY) last week because he announced he would not be voting to send billions of additional American taxpayer dollars to Israel on top of the billions we’ve already sent.

We were told endlessly throughout Trump’s presidency that Russia trying to influence America was the worst thing in the world but we’re supposed to support Israel interfering in our elections?

As AOC noted, a new Reuters/Ipsos poll found 68% of Americans want Israel to call a ceasefire and only 32% of Americans say “the US should support Israel” in their war with Gaza.

Nonetheless, we have almost no representation in Congress and Israel lobbyists are going to spend $100 million (or more) to try and oust the only congressmen and congresswomen who don’t want America to fund and back Israel’s war!

(2) Tucker Carlson & Candace Owens say Lobby & Jewish megadonors funded anti-white hate in courses at Ivy League universities

https://www.informationliberation.com/?id=64127

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson together with conservative commentator Candace Owens on Wednesday went off on the “Israel lobby” and Jewish megadonors for funding anti-white hatred being taught at Ivy League universities.

“If the biggest donors at Harvard have decided, okay, we’re going to shut it down now, where were you the last ten years when they were calling for white genocide?” Tucker Carlson asked. “You were allowing this.”

“This is what I’ve been trying to explain to the pro-Israel Lobby,” Owens said. “Where were you as we were enduring all of this?”

“You were paying for it, actually,” Carlson said. “You were paying for it as you called my children immoral for their skin color! You paid for that!”

“You have a ton of white people who are asking this question and they’re now being called anti-Semitic,” Owens responded. “And I think that that’s wrong. I think these are meaningful questions that deserve to be answered.”

Tucker and Owens’ comments <https://www.informationliberation.com/?id=64126>echoed similar comments made by Elon Musk just one hour earlier.

Ben Shapiro Labels Candace Owens ‘Disgraceful’ for Taking an America First Position on Israel-Gaza War

Chris Menahan

Nov. 14, 2023

Ben Shapiro is absolutely furious with Candace Owens for taking an America First position on the Israel-Palestine conflict and not advocating for America to fight Israel’s wars.

Even though Owens is on The Daily Wire’s payroll, Shapiro lashed out at her during an event on Monday night for her “absolutely disgraceful” behavior during the war.

“I think her behavior during this [Israel-Palestine conflict] has been disgraceful,” Shapiro said during a Jewish gathering in <https://www.tiktok.com/@theaestheticsheep/video/7301199515397213482>a video posted on TikTok. “Without a doubt, I think it’s been absolutely disgraceful.”

After presumably being asked if he can take her show off the air, Shapiro seems to have said, “Yeah, I can’t [inaudible] that.” (I think he said “pause” but the audio is quite poor.)

“Yeah, I mean she still works for my company,” Shapiro continued. “I think she’s been absolutely disgraceful. I think that her faux sophistication on these particular issues has been ridiculous. Everybody can see the moves that she’s making and the things that she’s saying and I find them disreputable.”

Owens’ “behavior” that Shapiro finds “disgraceful” has consisted of putting the interests of America First and not going along with Shapiro and Israel’s crybully tactics and SJW-style cancel culture campaigns to punish Israel’s critics (the same exact tactics Shapiro built his whole phony “conservative” persona off mocking and condemning).

Owens has also had the audacity to <https://www.informationliberation.com/?id=64080> stand up for the First Amendment rights of pro-Palestine protesters rather than go along with “conservatives” banning their student groups.

Shapiro evidently thinks Owens’ job is to be <https://www.informationliberation.com/?id=64049> throwing emotional fits threatening the Samson Option to demand Americans get on board with fighting and funding Israel’s wars.

Seeing as how Owens has dared to advocate for the interests of America over the interests of Israel, her days at the Daily Wire are clearly numbered.

BBC on Al-Shifa Raid: Israel Tampered With Evidence, Edited ‘Unedited’ Video And Failed to Prove Claims

The BBC, one of only two news organizations allowed into Al-Shifa Hospital by Israel, is reporting that the IDF tampered with evidence, edited the “unedited” video of the raid they released on social media and have failed so far to prove that the site is being used as a “Hamas Command Center” as they claimed.

I reported <https://www.informationliberation.com/?id=64129> on much of this yesterday and still nothing has changed.

They dug up a tunnel outside the building but it appears it was just a water reservoir or septic tank.

David Friedman, the former US ambassador to Israel under Donald Trump, claimed earlier this week that it has been “proven with certainty” that Hamas’s HQ was under the hospital and accused an Al Jazeera interviewer of “Holocaust denial” for demanding evidence.

As I highlighted yesterday, <https://www.informationliberation.com/?id=64129> patients inside the hospital have been put through hell and multiple have died due to the disruptions caused by the IDF’s raid/siege.

Israeli invaders unfurled the “LGBTQ+ Pride Flag” in Gaza to announce the “liberation” of the regions they bombed to the ground and are now occupying.

The flag was unfurled by 31-year-old gay Israeli soldier Yoav Atzmoni and shared on social media by “Borat 2” screenwriter Lee Kern.

Kern shared Atzmoni’s statement on X:

YOAV SPEAKS:

Before entering Gaza, I asked my partner to bring me two pride flags:

The first is an Israeli flag in pride colours that I pose with on a tank

It sends two messages

There is an internal message to Israel: that we carry obligations towards the state and must demand gay rights here – not necessarily to marry and start a family, but something more basic – the right to security as LGBTQ people, the right to respect, the right to be part of the national ethos, the right to be counted and recognized

The external message to the world is that despite the pain of war – the IDF is the ONLY army in the Middle East that defends democratic values. It is the ONLY army that allows gay people the freedom to be who we are. And so I fully believe in the righteousness of our cause.

The second flag is a simple pride flag that represents global solidarity.

When I entered Gaza, I knew I would write a message in three languages, but I hadn’t yet decided what to say. (I should mention that I speak both spoken and literary Arabic).

In the early days of the conflict I saw the Arabic inscription ‘Bismillah’ (‘In the Name of God’) on many houses

I decided to correspond with this by writing “Bismilahav” – which means “In the Name of Love”

Additionally, ‘In the Name of Love’ is a song by the band U2 that I really like!

My intention was to plant the first pride flag in Gaza as a call for peace and as a message of freedom

“Pride” flags have become symbols of occupation to millions throughout the world.

The US similarly hoisted a “Pride” flag in Afghanistan during their occupation.

They also put up murals to George Floyd — <https://www.informationliberation.com/?id=62525>all of which were taken down after Taliban took back their country.

UPDATE: The official Twitter account of Israel tweeted out the same message:

Former Israeli PM Olmert: Khan Yunis is the real headquarters of Hamas

In Khan Yunis “they have the leadership, they are hiding, they have the bunkers, they have the command positions, they have the launching pads,” former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said.

By SAM HALPERN

NOVEMBER 18, 2023 18:27Updated: NOVEMBER 18, 2023 21:10

In an interview with Euronews on Friday, <https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-750335> former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said that the real headquarters of Hamas leadership were located in Khan Yunis.

“Every citizen, every baby, every child that is killed is terrible. So, I don’t want to argue about the numbers. Everyone that is killed there, it’s terrible.” the former Israeli leader said. He went on, though, asking that, when nations around the world voted against a ceasefire, an act, he argued that implicitly condoned the Israeli action, if those nations expected that there would be no casualties.

“Khan Yunis, which is in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, is the real headquarters of Hamas,” Olmert said. “There they have the leadership, they are hiding, they have the bunkers, they have the command positions, they have the launching pads.”

Euronews interviewer Shona Murray pushed back, stating that the narrative has been that Al-Shifa Hospital has been the center of the Hamas command structure, adding that Al-Shifa has not revealed Hamas tunnels or weaponry.

“You have seen the weaponry, you haven’t seen the leaders,” Olmert clarified. “There [is] so many fake news. It’s now part of life. Everything is spread carelessly. Had you asked me two weeks ago, I’d have told you that the center is really in Khan Yunis. What Israel needs to do now is to announce that when the military battle [is] over, immediately, Israel is prepared to embark on negotiations with the Palestinian Authority for a two-state solution.”

A two-state solution would include Gaza in Palestinian state

This two-state solution, Olmert said, would include the Gaza Strip in the Palestinian state.

Israel has called on Gazan residents to <https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-773881>evacuate cities in the southern portion of the Strip, including Khan Yunis.

The Israeli military dropped leaflets making the request, asking civilians to go to designated areas where Israel could facilitate the transfer of humanitarian aid.

Murray then asked the former prime minister if Israel should conduct an inquiry into why the IDF didn’t show up to the southern Israel communities as quickly as it should have on October 7th, a mistake that left many residents of Israel to bear the brunt of Hamas’s brutality for an extended period of time.

“We’ll have to make a very thorough investigation,” Olmert answered. He added that he believed the Israeli leadership, on whose watch the October 7th massacre occurred, drastically underestimated Hamas.

In a recent interview on BBC Newsnight, Olmert explicitly names <https://www.jpost.com/opinion/article-773769>Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as this “leadership,” saying that up until October 7th, Netanyahu had security responsibility for Gaza, before he “completely failed.”

In the Euronews interview, he says that Israel has learned not to underestimate Hamas anymore.

“They are serious. They are sophisticated. They are just brutal. We will have to destroy them,” he said.

Israel orders Khan Younis evacuation in southern Gaza

Nov 18, 2023

Israel has told Palestinians in Khan Younis, the largest city in southern Gaza, to leave their homes.

The city hosts hundreds of thousands who fled northern Gaza as Israel began a ground operation against Hamas.

The new order suggests the military operations could soon move towards the south of the Gaza Strip.

Israel says the aim is to wipe out Hamas, following its attack on Israel on 7 October in which 1,200 people were killed and more than 240 taken hostage.

The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza says more than 12,000 people have been killed by Israel since then, including 5,000 children.

On Saturday, Israeli missiles struck a residential building in Khan Younis, killing 26 people, a local health official said.

Israel has not yet commented on the incident.

But it has been dropping leaflets in the wider area, urging people to leave for shelters.

“We’re asking people to relocate. I know it’s not easy for many of them, but we don’t want to see civilians caught up in the crossfire,” Mark Regev, an adviser to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, told US network MSNBC on Friday.

Israel did not want to see “civilians caught up in the crossfire”, Mr Regev said.

He said Israeli troops would need to advance into the city to remove Hamas fighters from underground tunnels, adding he was “pretty sure” those being urged to relocate “won’t have to move again” if they head west, towards the Mediterranean Sea.

Mr Regev said the areas they were being asked to move to would “hopefully have tents and a field hospital”, although no such plans have yet been publicised, and it is unclear if such facilities would be able to accommodate potentially well over a million evacuees.

Because the western areas are close to the Rafah border crossing with Egypt, humanitarian aid could be brought in “as quickly as possible”, Mr Regev said.

Like elsewhere in the Gaza Strip, southern Gaza has been in the grip of a humanitarian crisis since 7 October, when Israel enforced a full-scale blockage.

There have been widespread reports of water, food and fuel shortages, as well as concerns about healthcare facilities and sanitation conditions.

EU condemns Hamas for using ‘hospitals and civilians as human shields’

By AP13 November 2023, 12:34 pm

The 27 European Union nations have jointly condemned Hamas for the use of hospitals and civilians as “human shields” in the war against Israel.

EU foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell says that at the same time the bloc asked Israel “for maximum restraint and targeting in order to avoid human casualties.”

At a meeting of the bloc’s foreign affairs ministers, Borrell brandishes a statement he issued on behalf of the 27 nations as a show of unity following weeks of often contrasting statements on how the group should address the Israel-Hamas war.

“You know how difficult it has been the last times, after the vote in the United Nations, where countries were voted in different ways, to present a completely united approach,” Borrell says.

Only hours after EU leaders professed unity over the Israel-Hamas war on Oct. 28, the member states were totally split in a vote on a General Assembly resolution calling for humanitarian truces in Gaza leading to a cessation of hostilities between Israel and Hamas.

Now, though, the EU nations says in a statement they join “calls for immediate pauses in hostilities and the establishment of humanitarian corridors, including through increased capacity at border crossings and through a dedicated maritime route, so that humanitarian aid can safely reach the population of Gaza.”

And they reiterate their “call on Hamas for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages. It is crucial that the International Committee of the Red Cross is granted access to the hostages.”

It adds that “the EU condemns the use of hospitals and civilians as human shields by Hamas.”

Elon Musk Announces “Thermonuclear” Lawsuit Against Media Matters

Musk accuses the non-profit of actively trying to smear the company with misleading information, a move that caused advertisers to stop their spend.

By Cindy Harper
Posted 9:43 am

In a bold statement issued early Saturday, Elon Musk announced his intention to take aggressive legal action against Media Matters, a non-profit organization that pushes for online censorship. He accused the group and its associates of grossly distorting the user experience on his social media platform, X.

Musk’s planned lawsuit, which he describes as “thermonuclear,” targets not only Media Matters but also “all those who colluded” with them.

Musk’s response comes in the wake of a Media Matters report published on Thursday.

The report alleged that on X, advertisements from prominent companies like Apple, Disney, factions of NBCUniversal, IBM, Oracle, and Comcast were being displayed alongside content promoting “antisemitic conspiracy theories.”

In a fiery critique, Musk condemned these allegations as a blatant attempt to tarnish X’s reputation. He asserted that such attacks stem from a broader agenda to suppress free speech.

Musk views the actions of Media Matters and similar groups as part of a concerted effort by certain activist organizations and legacy media to stifle the freedom of expression on X.

According to Musk, these entities perceive X as a significant threat to their ideological narratives and the interests of their financial backers.

Further, Musk highlighted the tactics used by these groups, which he claims involve manipulating advertisers on X through deceptive means. By doing so, they aim to jeopardize the platform’s revenue streams.

Musk was unequivocal in dismissing the Media Matters report as baseless and without merit, labeling it as “garbage.”

Musk alleged that Media Matters established a dummy account and intentionally managed the posts and the propaganda showcased on the account as an attempt to conceal the authentic placement and context of the posts.

From X:

“Despite our clear and consistent position, X has seen a number of attacks from activist groups like Media Matters and legacy media outlets who seek to undermine freedom of expression on our platform because they perceive it as a threat to their ideological narrative and those of their financial supporters. These groups try to use their influence to attack our revenue streams by deceiving advertisers on X.

Here are the facts on Media Matters’ research:

To manipulate the public and advertisers, Media Matters created an alternate account and curated the posts and advertising appearing on the account’s timeline to misinform advertisers about the placement of their posts. These contrived experiences could be applied to any platform.
Once they curated their feed, they repeatedly refreshed their timelines to find a rare instance of ads serving next to the content they chose to follow. Our logs indicate that they forced a scenario resulting in 13 times the number of ads served compared to the median ads served to an X user.
Of the 5.5 billion ad impressions on X that day, less than 50 total ad impressions were served against all of the organic content featured in the Media Matters article.

For one brand showcased in the article, one of its ads ran adjacent to a post 2 times and that ad was seen in that setting by only two users, one of which was the author of the Media Matters article.

For another brand showcased in the article, two of its ads served adjacent to 2 posts, 3 times, and that ad was only seen in that setting by one user, the author of the Media Matters article.

Media Matters article also highlights nine posts they believe should not be allowed on X. Upon evaluation, only one of the nine organic posts featured in the article violated our content policies, and we’ve taken action on it under our Freedom of Speech, Not Reach enforcement approach.

Here’s a summary on this all:

1. X will protect the public’s right to free expression. We will not allow agenda-driven activists, or even our own profits, to deter our vision.
2. Everyone has a choice on X. User and brand control on X is superior to a year ago.
3. Data wins over allegations. Media Matters does not reflect the user experience on X.”

The Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) is also currently embroiled in several controversies, <https://reclaimthenet.org/x-sues-pro-censorship-non-profit>including a lawsuit.

The lawsuit, initiated by X, accuses CCDH of causing the social media company to lose advertisers through a smear campaign that allegedly violated its terms of service.

“We will continue to protect the freedom of voices and opinions of users on X! Stand with us,” wrote X CEO Linda Yaccarino.

UK Home Secretary labels pro-Palestine rallies ‘hate marches’

October 30, 2023 at 6:52 pm

The UK’s Home Secretary, on Monday, called pro-Palestine rallies “hate marches”, saying protests against Israeli attacks on Gaza saw “a large number of bad actors who are deliberately operating beneath the criminal threshold”, Anadolu Agency reports.

Suella Braverman addressed the impact of the Israel-Palestine conflict on communities in the UK following an emergency cabinet meeting (Cobra) chaired by Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak.

She called for heightened efforts by law enforcement agencies, particularly the Metropolitan Police and other regional forces, to address the issue of anti-Semitism.

“We’ve seen now tens of thousands of people take to the streets following the massacre of Jewish people – the single largest loss of Jewish life since the Holocaust, chanting for the erasure of Israel from the map,” she said.

Braverman did not distinguish between the majority of peaceful protesters and those advocating for the “erasure” of Israel, asserting:

“To my mind, there is only one way to describe those marches – they are hate marches.”

Asked about the chant, “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”, and whether she considered it anti-Semitic, Braverman said the police operate independently but emphasised: “The police must take a zero-tolerance approach to anti-Semitism.”

On 10 October, just days after the current Middle East conflict began, Braverman issued a warning to police chiefs over displays of Palestinian flags on British streets. …

Five countries ask ICC to investigate Genocide in Palestine

By Fabio G. C. Carisio

November 18, 2023

Five countries have asked the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate the situation in Palestine, ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan said on Friday, according to TASS Russian News Agency.

These five countries are Bangladesh, Bolivia, Djibouti, <https://www.gospanews.net/en/2023/11/17/south-africa-refers-israel-to-international-criminal-court-for-genocide-in-gaza/>South Africa, and the Comoros.

“We are opposed to the operation that is ongoing, particularly as it is now <https://www.gospanews.net/en/2023/11/02/unicef-gaza-now-a-graveyard-for-children-as-the-fuhrer-of-zionists-wanted/> targeting hospitals where babies, women, and the injured are dying like flies,” the South African President Cyril Ramaphosa <https://www.gospanews.net/en/2023/11/17/south-africa-refers-israel-to-international-criminal-court-for-genocide-in-gaza/> announced on Wednesday during a two-day visit to Qatar.

On Wednesday, Ramaphosa claimed that while South Africa, an active supporter of Palestinian sovereignty, does not endorse the Hamas incursion, the Israeli response <https://www.gospanews.net/en/2023/10/30/eu-is-becoming-complicit-in-genocide-of-netanyahu-war-criminal-spanish-minister-blames/> amounts to genocide that warrants an ICC investigation.

“There is a need for the whole world to rise and call for the Israeli government to ceasefire, and stop what is happening and the ICC to investigate. Of course, legal measures need to be taken at a global level,” he added.

Under the Rome Statute, any member country may inform the prosecutor about a situation when it thinks one or more crimes falling under the court’s jurisdiction were committed to decide whether one or more persons ought to be sued.

Such notions, however, are rather symbolic, as since March 3, 2021, the ICC has been investigating crimes <https://www.gospanews.net/en/2023/10/15/hamas-ferocity-vs-israeli-war-crimes-terrorists-loved-by-gaza-zionists-shielded-by-hague-icc-us/> committed after June 12, 2014 in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Eastern Jerusalem. “It continues and covers the escalation of hostilities and violence after the October 7, 2023 attacks,” Khan said. …
