SC Editorial: Biden & NATO Lackeys Escalate Danger of Nuclear Apocalypse
The present crop of Western political puppets don’t seem to be cognizant of the Pandora’s Box they are potentially unleashing.
This week the Biden administration green-lighted delivery of long-range rocket systems to Ukraine capable of hitting Russian territory. Russia condemned it as a “direct provocation” and warned that the U.S. move was widening the war.
In a twisted rationale, American President Joe Biden said the new delivery of weapons was to help Kiev negotiate peace.
Every step the U.S. and its NATO partners are taking is like an insane lurch towards the abyss of world war, one that would lead to a nuclear conflagration.
The United States, Britain and now Germany have this week committed to supplying the Kiev regime with heavier and longer-range missile systems. Up to now, Berlin has balked at becoming more involved in militarily equipping the Ukrainian forces. But Chancellor Olaf Scholz this week approved sending anti-aircraft missiles.
Biden has earmarked the High-Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) for delivery. It may take several weeks for the new weapons to arrive, although the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink (how apt her name!) vowed that the weapons could arrive sooner.
There is an astounding complacency among Western leaders as to the disastrous dynamic they are pushing and where the conflict in Ukraine is potentially leading – a global apocalypse.
Russia had made it abundantly clear over several years that it would not tolerate relentless expansion by the U.S.-led NATO military bloc on its doorstep. In particular, Moscow warned that if neighboring Ukraine continued to threaten Russia’s national security, then “technical measures” would be taken. Now that Moscow has taken measures to nullify the Kiev regime’s offensive behavior with the launch of its special military operation on February 24 – in its fourth month and succeeding, as even the Western media are belatedly conceding – the U.S. and its NATO accomplices are nevertheless doubling down by supplying ever-more weaponry to Ukraine.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov deplored how the United States was “deliberately and diligently pouring fuel on the fire”.
Instead of prioritizing efforts for a comprehensive strategic peace treaty through diplomacy, the U.S. and NATO are prioritizing the intensification of conflict and widening war.
Dominique Trinquand, a former head of France’s military mission at the United Nations, was quoted by the Euronews outlet as saying: “The NATO countries – the European nations and the Americans – have progressively escalated the means that they are putting at Ukraine’s disposal, and this escalation, in my opinion, has had the aim of testing Russian limits.”
The perverse priorities are staggering. At a time of immense economic hardship in the West, or what JPMorgan boss Jamie Dimon compares to a hurricane, the U.S. and its European allies are pumping tens of billions of dollars and euros into fanning war in Ukraine. How more blatantly contemptuous can Western rulers be of their own populations?
Biden in an op-ed piece for the New York Times this week made the unconvincing appeal that all this U.S. largesse on the taxpayers’ debt was to “defend freedom”.
As if seeking to reassure Americans about the madcap course his administration was barreling on, the U.S. president asserted that he did not want war with Russia and that use of nuclear weapons would be “completely unacceptable”. Biden’s capricious assurances do not inspire any confidence whatsoever.
Western leaders (sic) are riven with contradictions and delusions. They may claim they want peace, but their every action is tantamount to foolishly ripping the lid from a Pandora’s Box of catastrophe.
A major part of their dilemma is the dire consequences of their own diminishing moral authority to govern amid a crest of social and economic failings of Western capitalist economies. But everything Biden and his Western cohorts do about Ukraine and Russia only makes their own dilemma even more profound and intractable.
It is acutely disturbing that Biden should seek to give assurances about not wanting war and the danger of nuclear weapons when his every action is increasing the risk of calamity.
Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of Russia’s National Security Council this week warned of the despicable complacency shown by Western politicians about a world war and nuclear conflagration. He condemned the facile assumption that just because such an outcome would have unthinkable consequences for the planet and humanity that therefore it is presumed such events would not happen.
Well, lamentably, the impossible is being made possible because of sheer Western dogged recklessness. Diplomacy and political reasoning have been shelved by relentless militarism. In short, that is criminal.
Biden claims that the new long-range weapons will not be used to strike Russian territory. His record of lying for over 5o years about U.S. warmongering speaks for itself. The HIMARS systems on the way to Ukraine are reportedly capable of a range from 80 to 300 kilometers. Even at the shorter range, that makes artillery attacks on the Russian Federation possible from Kiev regime positions.
The U.S. and NATO have therefore gone from weaponizing a Russophobic regime that glorifies Nazi collaborators to equipping this same regime with the firepower to strike “Russia’s depth” – as a British government minister dared to put it six weeks ago. So, the crazed unthinkable is not just becoming thinkable. It is becoming implemented as a policy, as the new weapons commitments by the U.S., Britain and Germany are dreadfully demonstrating.
Moscow has underscored that its long-held defense doctrine stipulates that if the Russian Federation comes under existential threat even from conventional weapons it will respond with nuclear weapons.
Western misleaders and media have previously accused Russia of nuclear saber-rattling because Moscow has expressed grave concern about the conflict spiraling uncontrollably.
The nonstop flooding of Ukraine with ever-increasing offensive weaponry by the U.S. and its NATO lackeys is the real indicator of who is actually threatening world peace with the ultimate terror.
It never ceases to be relevant: the United States is the only power that has actually stooped to the barbarity of using nuclear weapons of mass destruction. That fact alone is a wake-up call to the depravity that its ruling class is willing and capable of inflicting. Pious rhetoric and florid words of seeming assurance and complacency are utterly nauseating.
Russia escaped from the jaws of national destruction 77 years ago with the historic defeat of Nazi Germany. It’s not going to let the same danger even remotely close. The perplexing problem, however, is that the present crop of Western political puppets don’t seem to be cognizant of the Pandora’s Box they are potentially unleashing.
